Specialist terms
Last updated: 21 October 2026. Version 21 October 2026, revision 8.
If you accepted an earlier version, that recorded version still applies to your agreement. The attendance reporting, payment timing and calendar connection terms in this version apply when this version is accepted. They do not replace an earlier accepted version on their own. Clarification for existing signatories.

1. Who we are
These terms apply if you register interest as a registration specialist, book a call about joining the panel, claim a specialist profile, accept a Specialist Participation Agreement, or otherwise use Registration Compare as a specialist.
People looking for a specialist use the Terms of Use.
Registration Compare provides research, comparison and booking services for people looking for registration specialists. We are not CQC, CIW, the Care Inspectorate, RQIA or any other regulator, and we are not affiliated with them.
2. Independence
Registration Compare is independent of the delivery of registration support. We do not ourselves provide the registration service being compared.
Specialists pay Registration Compare under their agreed commercial terms. Specialist fees do not influence shortlist selection or ranking on a customer proposal.
3. Registering interest
Businesses interested in joining the Registration Compare specialist panel may register their interest through the specialist section of the website.
- Registering interest does not automatically add a business to the panel.
- It does not guarantee acceptance, inclusion in proposals, or any volume of enquiries or appointments.
4. Specialist profiles and onboarding
Registration Compare may create a researched specialist profile before contacting the business concerned. An existing specialist may be invited to review and claim its private profile through a specialist-specific link. Private profiles are used for onboarding, verification, specialist matching and customer proposals. Detailed specialist profiles used for customer matching and individual proposals are not made available through an openly browsable directory. Access to these profiles remains controlled as part of Registration Compare’s qualification, shortlisting and proposal process. This does not prevent Registration Compare from publishing separate, publicly accessible research about businesses operating in the registration consultancy market.
As part of onboarding, Registration Compare may collect information about your services, areas of specialism, service types supported, indicative pricing, preferred customer types, exclusions and the types or levels of support you provide.
Registration Compare may initially populate your profile using publicly available information. You will have the opportunity to review, amend and take ownership of the profile used to represent your business.
You are responsible for keeping information you approve or provide materially accurate and current.
Claiming or approving a profile does not mean that everything supplied by the specialist becomes independently verified. We may review, check, amend or decline specialist-supplied changes before treating them as verified information.
Specialists must not claim a profile unless they have authority to act for the relevant business. Private claim links must not be shared with people who are not authorised to represent that business.
4A. Public research, specialist recognition and advertising
Registration Compare may research and publish factual information about businesses operating in the registration consultancy market, including participating specialists and businesses with no commercial relationship with Registration Compare.
Public research profiles are distinct from the detailed specialist profiles used for individual customer proposals. They may contain information obtained from public records, business websites, independent reviews and other relevant sources. Businesses may be invited to review, correct or claim their public profiles.
Claiming a public research profile does not constitute acceptance onto Registration Compare’s specialist panel or confer verified participating specialist status.
Registration Compare distinguishes between independently researched businesses and specialists accepted onto its verified participating panel. Participating specialists may be identified through appropriate partnership and verification branding, including agreed reciprocal use of business logos and Registration Compare badges.
Registration Compare independently promotes its research, comparison and introduction services through organic search, paid advertising and other marketing activity. This may include targeting searches associated with individual consultancy businesses.
Advertising will clearly identify Registration Compare and communicate its independent comparison proposition directly and transparently. Participation in the specialist panel does not confer exclusivity over search terms or advertising audiences.
Public research, specialist verification and customer-specific shortlisting remain distinct activities. Inclusion in public research does not guarantee or imply eligibility for customer proposals.
5. The curated panel and customer qualification
Registration Compare operates a curated panel of assessed and verified specialists. It is not an open directory or lead-selling marketplace where anyone can pay to appear or list themselves.
The curated specialist panel and private customer proposal process are distinct from Registration Compare’s wider public research activities. Publication of an independently researched business profile does not, by itself, constitute panel participation, partnership or specialist verification.
Specialists are assessed before being accepted onto the panel. Each customer requirement is qualified before shortlisting. Qualification may include the proposed service type, regulated activity, current stage, budget, timescale, readiness to proceed and the type or level of support being sought.
Registration Compare may also use market information and analysis to help customers understand the service and market they are proposing to enter. This may include analysis presented through "Should I Start?", which can consider available evidence about local authority demand, existing supply, identified gaps, locality and service type. Not every customer will necessarily receive the same analysis or report.
A normal customer proposal will generally contain three relevant specialists. Selection is based on fit, evidence and relevance to the customer requirement. The customer chooses who they want to speak to.
A customer does not have to be ready to purchase a complete end-to-end registration service to constitute a relevant opportunity. They may initially require a review, advice, policy or documentation support, partial registration support or another smaller piece of work.
Likewise, a customer who is initially operating or proposing an unregulated service may still be a relevant registration opportunity where they have a genuine intention to move into regulated activity.
Qualification is intended to improve relevance. It does not guarantee that a customer will proceed, appoint a specialist, purchase a particular service, spend a particular amount or achieve registration.
Payment to Registration Compare must not influence shortlisting or ranking.
Accepting a Specialist Participation Agreement means you accept the contractual terms for participation. Live inclusion in customer proposals remains subject to completion of Registration Compare’s assessment and verification and platform activation requirements.
If these Specialist Terms conflict with your agreed Specialist Participation Agreement and Schedule 1 in relation to your commercial arrangement, that agreement and Schedule 1 take precedence for that arrangement.
6. Customer choice and proposals
A customer proposal will normally contain three specialists. The customer may choose to speak to none, one, two or all three. We may recommend that customers speak to two before deciding, but that is not mandatory.
Each specialist relationship is independent. A customer speaking to another specialist does not prevent them speaking to you as well. Inclusion in a proposal is non-exclusive.
There is no charge to join the panel, be assessed, be verified, or appear in a proposal. Customers use Registration Compare without charge for the comparison and booking process. No discovery-call fee is payable merely for being included in a proposal.
7. Commercial model and Attended Verified Discovery Calls
The standard commercial rate is £225 + VAT per Attended Verified Discovery Call unless a different rate is recorded in Schedule 1: Commercial Terms to your Specialist Participation Agreement.
“Attended Verified Discovery Call” means a discovery call arranged through Registration Compare where the customer genuinely attended, with attendance confirmed in accordance with this section.
“Business Day” means a day other than a Saturday, Sunday or public holiday in England and Wales when banks in London are open for business.
A customer booking should enter the relevant calendars and be visible to Registration Compare and the specialist, but no discovery-call fee is due merely because the appointment was booked.
Registration Compare requests the applicable fee when the scheduled call is due to finish, unless the appointment was cancelled or rescheduled before then. If the specialist reports that the customer did not attend, no fee is payable for that appointment. A payment request already sent for it is not collected. If a customer who did not attend later rebooks, the fee is requested when that later call is due to finish.
If a customer who did not attend later rebooks and attends, only one applicable discovery-call fee is due for that attended call.
You must accurately report whether the customer attended every Registration Compare discovery call within 24 hours of its scheduled end, including a customer no-show. Use the attendance page Registration Compare sends for that call. A completed calendar event is not attendance.
The agreed discovery-call referral fee is requested when the scheduled call is due to finish, unless that appointment was cancelled or rescheduled. Payment is due within 24 hours counted only on Business Days, starting when that request is sent. No referral fee is payable for a customer no-show. The end of a calendar event is not itself proof that the customer attended. Introductory, trial and other arrangements recorded in Schedule 1 continue to apply.
Failure to report attendance within that time is a breach of this agreement. Registration Compare may withhold further introductions or suspend new bookings while an attendance report remains outstanding. Existing appointments are not cancelled automatically because a report is outstanding.
Registration Compare may ask the customer whether the call took place, check the attendance report, and review reports that do not match. That customer feedback is voluntary and private. It is not published as a review, it is not marketing consent, and it does not by itself make a fee payable.
These attendance and payment duties apply when you accept this version. If you accepted an earlier version, that recorded version continues to apply until you and Registration Compare agree a written variation or you accept this version.
Registration Compare does not require payment to confirm a calendar booking, and does not request the fee when the call is booked. The request goes out when the scheduled call is due to finish, unless the appointment was cancelled or rescheduled.
If an undisputed invoice for an Attended Verified Discovery Call remains overdue after the due date, Registration Compare may pause the specialist from new proposals until that amount is paid.
Registration Compare may agree an introductory, promotional, trial or other alternative commercial arrangement with an individual specialist in writing. Where such an arrangement applies, it must be recorded in that specialist’s Schedule 1 and takes precedence over the standard rate for the period or bookings specified there.
The same customer may lead to separate discovery-call fees for more than one specialist if the customer has Attended Verified Discovery Calls with more than one specialist. Each specialist is independently responsible for their own applicable fee.
The fee does not determine who is shortlisted. Specialists remain responsible for setting their own prices to customers for registration support work.
Registration Compare is not a party to any subsequent contract between you and the customer for registration support. Registration Compare receives 0% of any subsequent work agreed between the customer and the specialist. The specialist retains the project, subsequent work, retainers, repeat work and referrals arising from the relationship.
8. Existing customers and active pipeline
No discovery-call fee is payable where, before Registration Compare introduced or presented the customer to you, that customer was already a genuine active opportunity generated independently by your business and being actively progressed by you.
You must tell Registration Compare as soon as reasonably possible where this applies. Registration Compare may request reasonable evidence of the existing relationship, such as dated correspondence, CRM activity, meetings, proposals or other records demonstrating active engagement.
Where an active existing opportunity is identified before a customer proposal is created, Registration Compare will normally exclude you from that proposal and present other relevant specialists instead.
Previous or historic contact with a customer does not give a specialist permanent ownership of that opportunity.
Where an earlier enquiry or relationship has lapsed and Registration Compare subsequently independently generates or re-engages the customer, presents you through Registration Compare and the customer chooses to speak to you through the platform, the normal discovery-call fee applies.
There is no fixed expiry period for previous contact. Where necessary, Registration Compare will consider the circumstances and available evidence to distinguish between a genuine active opportunity and historic or lapsed contact.
9. Circumvention
You must not encourage a customer introduced through Registration Compare to move the substantive discovery conversation off the platform, or otherwise arrange the appointment, simply to avoid the applicable discovery-call fee. This does not prevent ordinary direct contact once a genuine Attended Verified Discovery Call has taken place and the fee has been handled in line with your agreement.
10. Capacity and availability
You may pause new opportunities, tell Registration Compare when you are at capacity, and ask not to appear in new proposals. There is no penalty for genuinely being unavailable provided Registration Compare is kept reasonably informed.
Keep your capacity and availability current. If you are not accepting new clients, you should be paused from new proposals until you are ready again.
Once a customer has selected and booked you, you should normally honour the appointment or make reasonable arrangements to reschedule it. Repeated avoidable cancellations, inaccurate availability or failure to manage bookings may result in pausing or removal from the panel.
11. Calendar connection
Where Registration Compare asks you to connect a calendar, that connection is for discovery-call bookings with customers. The permission covers the calendar. Email inboxes are outside this connection. Connecting a calendar does not by itself start customer bookings.
You may currently connect Google Calendar or Microsoft 365 / Outlook. Sign in with the calendar email you have given us, using an account you are allowed to connect for your business. We do not ask for or store the password for that account.
Before the connection starts, you confirm: I authorise Registration Compare to connect to my calendar to check availability and arrange, change or cancel discovery calls. We record that confirmation and the date. If you accepted an earlier version of these terms, that confirmation does not replace the version you accepted. After the calendar is connected, save your availability again so your buffers and blocked dates are applied before we make you available for bookings. You are responsible for keeping those settings accurate and for telling us if the connection stops working.
A discovery-call appointment contains the information needed to arrange the meeting and may include an appointment reference. It includes the customer’s name and email address. Use the customer’s details only for the discovery call and your other obligations under these terms. Other appointments on your calendar are used so we do not offer a time when you are busy. We do not publish those other appointments.
You can ask us to disconnect your calendar at any time. We will stop new bookings through that connection and remove the connection details we no longer need. Existing appointments are not automatically cancelled. There is no disconnect button on the website. You can also withdraw the permission in your Google or Microsoft account. Withdrawing it there does not, by itself, update our record. Booking records already made are kept as described in the Privacy Policy.
12. No lock-in
There is no minimum term, no minimum number of discovery calls, and no exclusivity requirement. Either party may end participation by written notice. You may leave if the commercial model does not work for you.
Ending participation does not remove obligations that have already arisen, including confirmed appointments, outstanding fees legitimately due, outcome reporting for Registration Compare-originated customers, and verification relating to cases already introduced.
13. Profile accuracy
You will keep information you supply or that Registration Compare displays about you materially accurate and current, including services, scope, pricing, named people, experience, coverage, qualifications or memberships, insurance where relevant, availability, and material claims about registration results or performance. You will promptly tell Registration Compare about material changes.
Not every specialist-supplied statement is independently verified. Registration Compare distinguishes, where reasonably possible, between independently verified information, specialist-supplied information, and researched public-source information.
14. Verification
Participation includes reasonably engaging with Registration Compare’s verification processes, including responding to reasonable requests about profile information, registration experience, customer outcomes, claims displayed on your profile, and evidence supporting relevant factual claims. Registration Compare does not accredit or guarantee you as a specialist.
15. Professional standards and insurance
You will provide your registration-support services professionally and lawfully, maintain insurance reasonably appropriate to those services, and comply with professional, regulatory and legal obligations that apply to your own work. Registration Compare does not regulate or accredit you as a specialist.
16. Confidentiality
Each party will keep confidential non-public information obtained through participation, including customer information, non-public proposal information, Registration Compare commercial information, and non-public specialist information, where it is reasonable to treat the information as confidential.
This does not apply to information that is already public, was independently obtained without breach of confidence, must be disclosed by law, or is shared with professional advisers bound by confidentiality.
17. Registration outcome reporting
For customers originating through Registration Compare, you will provide reasonable factual outcome information when requested. The mandatory ongoing dataset concerns Registration Compare-originated cases, not your entire historic customer book.
Depending on the case, this may include whether the customer appointed you, the engagement or start date, progress through registration, regulator and service type, approximate registration timescale, returns, withdrawals or refusals, the number of submissions or attempts where relevant, whether registration was achieved and when, and whether the engagement ended before completion.
Provide reasonable evidence where necessary to verify an outcome rather than routinely uploading whole client files.
Do not omit unsuccessful, returned, refused or withdrawn cases from the cohort Registration Compare is tracking.
18. Verified performance information
Registration Compare may use verified outcome information to improve customer qualification, understand actual registration timescales and outcomes, manage customer expectations, verify specialist claims and produce factual performance information using a documented methodology with appropriate sample-size and context disclosures.
A refusal, return or repeat submission is not automatically treated as evidence of poor specialist performance. Outcomes must be considered in context, including the specialist’s scope of work, whether their advice was followed, customer actions or omissions, application changes, regulator decisions, current regulator practices and other material circumstances outside the specialist’s reasonable control.
Registration Compare does not guarantee future performance and will not present very small samples as meaningful statistics.
Registration Compare may, however, review, pause or remove a specialist where there is a material pattern of poor outcomes, misleading claims, customer complaints, failure to deliver, professional concerns or other evidence that continued inclusion may undermine the quality or integrity of the panel.
19. Reviews and customer feedback
Registration Compare may contact introduced customers during or after their engagement to understand progress, confirm factual outcomes, and request reviews. Reviews may be verified before publication.
You must not selectively provide only favourable cases, interfere with legitimate feedback, pressure customers for positive feedback, or offer incentives conditional on favourable feedback. You may challenge factual inaccuracies, unverifiable claims, unlawful content, or mistaken identity.
20. Data sharing
Registration Compare shares customer details and relevant requirements needed to conduct a discovery call. You share progress and registration outcome information needed for verification, using data minimisation. Do not upload unnecessary passports, DBS information, health information, complete client files, or unrelated confidential documents unless reasonably required to verify a specific outcome.
The Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy on the website explain how we use personal information and cookies.
21. Example profiles
The website may contain fictional or illustrative specialist profiles designed to show how Registration Compare presents information. These will be identified as examples.
22. Use of the website
You may use the website for lawful purposes connected with participating in Registration Compare as a specialist.
You must not:
- misuse the website or attempt to interfere with its operation
- attempt to gain unauthorised access to private specialist links or accounts
- scrape or systematically extract researched specialist data without permission
- reproduce proposals, research or specialist files commercially without permission
- provide false information or impersonate another person or business
- use the service for unlawful, fraudulent or abusive purposes
23. Our content and intellectual property
The Registration Compare name, website design, written content, comparison structure, research presentation and original materials belong to us or are used with permission. Third-party names, logos and specialist material remain the property of their respective owners.
24. Availability and changes
We aim to keep Registration Compare available and its information current, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may update the website, correct information, change how comparisons are presented, remove or suspend specialist profiles, or change parts of the service where reasonably necessary.
We may update these Specialist Terms. The current version and revision date will be published on the public specialist terms page. A version recorded on your acceptance remains the version that applied to your agreement.
Registration Compare may review its commercial pricing as the platform develops.
Any change to the standard discovery-call fee will be communicated to participating specialists before it takes effect and will apply only to future Attended Verified Discovery Calls. A new rate will not be applied retrospectively to fees already incurred.
Any specialist-specific introductory or alternative commercial arrangement remains governed by Schedule 1.
25. Our responsibility
We take reasonable care in carrying out our research and presenting the information we have checked. We cannot guarantee that every third-party record, specialist statement, review, price or other piece of information will always be complete, current or error-free.
We are not responsible for the acts, omissions or services of an independent registration specialist simply because that specialist appears on Registration Compare. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so.
26. Privacy and cookies
The Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy on the website explain how we use personal information and cookies.
27. Questions and complaints
Contact: hello@registrationcompare.uk. If a complaint concerns work you have carried out for a customer, that customer should normally raise it with you under your own complaints process. We may still want to know about the issue because it may be relevant to our specialist research and panel decisions.
28. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. If the law gives you mandatory rights in another part of the United Kingdom, these terms do not remove those rights.
